Most businesses today rely heavily on their customer reviews. However, that being said, getting your customers to leave a review is no easy task.
Reviews significantly influence purchasing decisions. In fact, a recent 2022 survey found that a whopping 93% of customers read online reviews before purchasing.
Thus it is extremely important to do everything you can to encourage your customers to document their experience (provided it is likely to be a positive one).
In this article, we will show you a very simple way to encourage more customer reviews for your online business.
The number one thing to note is that if you want more reviews, you have to make the review process as easy as possible for your customers.
Asking for a review shouldn’t be a complicated or time consuming process. Which is why we’re going to show you how to create a custom review link that redirects people to your Google reviews, making it incredibly easy for your clients to leave you all those positive reviews!
For this to work all you’ll need is a Google My Business account.
How to create a custom review link to Google Reviews
Step 1:
Open Google Chrome on your computer and search for your business so you see your Google My business show up on the right hand side.
Step 2:
Click on the “Write a review” button next to the Reviews section so that the reviews window pops-up.
Step 3:
With the reviews window open, copy the entire link in your browser.
Step 4:
Create a redirect so your review link is professional looking. There are a couple of ways of doing this (listed below) but the main goal is to direct your customers straight to your Google reviews.
Use Bitly
You can use Bitly to create a shorter, more slick and professional looking link to send to your customers.
Create a Custom Button
Or you could ask your web developer to create a custom button on your website that redirects to your Google reviews.
Add URL to your Link in Bio
Another way to encourage reviews is by adding your Google reviews URL to your link in bio across your socials.
There are a number of link in bio providers to choose from but most people by now, will have heard of LinkTree.
LinkTree allows you to create a number of link redirects under one umbrella link that you can share on your social media bios.
Here you can include a link entitled something like “Review Us” then simply paste your Google Review URL in here. This means you can easily encourage customers to leave reviews by creating certain social media posts directing them to your link in bio.
Step 5:
Test your link. Your redirect should work instantly. It’s best to test it out on your computer and on your phone to make sure everything is linking correctly before sending it to your customers.
Conclusion
If your clients have to search for your business in Google or Maps to leave you a review, chances are… they won’t. This is why you need to make the process as seamless as possible, while keeping everything looking slick and professional.
